The below guidelines are for presenters / speakers that are not LIVE in Utrecht, The Netherlands BUT will present LIVE from home (remote).
Attention: All speakers of a session are requested to remain in the session, and take part in the LIVE Q&A at the end of the session.
All live remote speakers are requested to connect well in time before the start of your session.
On August 18 you will receive an email with the url link which you will be using on the day of your presentation to connect with the venue and give your presentation remotely.
All remote speakers will be invited to participate in a testrun/rehearsal session. We strongly recommend to participate. This will allow us to make sure your internet will work fine and allows you to test how everything will work. This will help us to deliver a quality congress.
We have scheduled three timeslots and we hope that you will manage to take part in at least one of them.
Rehearsal 1: August 22, 2022 from 8-9hr > CEST Timezone
Rehearsal 2: August 22, 2022 from 12-13hr > CEST Timezone
Rehearsal 3: August 22, 2022 from 18-19hr > CEST Timezone
Please schedule one of the time slots into your diary.
TIPS & TRICKS
Computer:
Make sure your computer is up-to-date and running stable (no warning messages, annoying advertisement pop-ups, software update reminders). Close all software programs you won't be needing during your presentation to avoid unwanted notification messages (incoming e-mails, calendar reminders). If you are using a laptop, make sure your power adaptor is connected so your computer doesn't run out of battery.
Internet connection:
If you can view any YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com) without interruptions or hiccups in browsing, video, or audio – you are good to go! If you are having troubles or things are going slowly, try moving closer to your wi-fi router or connect your computer via a network cable for a better internet connection.
Audio:
Choose a quiet environment, free of any distractions (no open windows, no street noise from roadworks or passing vehicles with sirens, no kids or pets around). It is strongly advised to use a headset with microphone to reduce environment noise and have a good quality audio.
Video:
Check your camera image for any distractions or private items that are visible in your video background (family pictures, prints on the walls with confidential info) – remove anything you don't want others to see. Check whether your face is sufficiently lit, and if your facial expressions are clearly visible on screen. Avoid pointing the camera to windows (backlight) and try adding an extra light behind your camera to make your face more visible if necessary.
All PowerPoint presentations must be uploaded onto Encyro (see upload link below) BEFORE JULY 29!
Your presentation must be named as follows:
Room_day_starttime_familyname
If your presentation is taking place in Room 1 on Friday 26 August at 13:15 and your name is John Doe
your filename of your presentation should be
R1_FRI_1315_DOE
We urge you to follow this rule so your presentation can easily be assigned to the correct session.
When preparing your presentation we recommend you to download and use the ISU 2022 master slide freely available on the IUSG website.
